HO231vcx Unmasking Bias in Appraisals: Addressing Racial and Socioeconomic Inequities
This course will offer an in-depth examination of racial and socioeconomic biases in home appraisals, focusing on their origins, impacts, and strategies for mitigation. participant will explore historical patterns of housing discrimination, such as redlining and segregation, and how they continue to influence the appraisal process today. Through case studies, research analysis, and practical exercises, learners will be able to identify biases in property valuation and understand the systemic inequalities that perpetuate them.
By the end of the course, learners will be equipped with the tools and knowledge to recognize and challenge biased appraisal practices, contributing to a more equitable housing market.

Enroll in our accelerated 6-day faculty-led course which is designed for optimal interactivity and engagement. Days 1, 3, and 5 are comprised of a total of 4 hours of live online instruction, divided into two sessions with a 1-hour break in between. Days 2, 4, and 6 are dedicated to self-paced completion of all activities and assignments. All required coursework is due by 11:59 p.m. PT on the designated day of class.
