CP153 Basic Blueprint Reading

Experience a hands-on introduction to reading and interpreting construction drawings. You will master the use of an architect’s scale, understand standard blueprint symbols and notations, and analyze various types of drawings including floor plans, elevations, and sections. The course emphasizes extracting critical information—dimensions, materials, and spatial relationships—and applying it to real-world construction standards and project requirements. Through interactive activities with large-format prints and digital files, you will build confidence in blueprint literacy, ensuring proper execution of design specifications and clear communication among project stakeholders.
